KC Certification
KC Certification Overview
A procedure and system that evaluates whether broadcasting and communication equipment to be manufactured, imported, or sold in Korea complies with certain technical standards or regulations, thereby certifying its safety and reliability. Divided into three categories — Conformity Certification, Conformity Registration, and Provisional Certification — according to the level of risk (radio interference, network hazards, and human safety).
KC Certification Categories
Equipment that causes radio interference hazards, harmful effects on human safety and the body, or affects the safety and service of communication networks, certified by the government.
– Designated test lab conformity registration: equipment with less impact on radio interference, human safety, and the body than equipment subject to conformity certification. – Self-test conformity registration: equipment with limited usage scope used only in specific fields, registered by the supplier after self-testing.
When conformity assessment standards do not exist due to the use of new technology, or when conformity assessment is difficult for other reasons, equipment receives limited certification and obtains formal certification within a certain period after the technical standards are established.
